Meet the Team: Shauna Mayo

shauna

Hi! I’m Shauna Mayo, a writer for Impact Early Education.

My passion is for all children to get quality child care, especially the children of trauma.

Experience

I’ve been in early childhood education as an inclusion specialist since 2015. My role as an inclusion specialist has me visiting early childhood classrooms all of the time, observing behavior, and then meeting with the teachers and parents to go over functions of behavior and discuss strategies to help with some of those behaviors.

My role also has me creating and conducting trainings for teachers on multiple subjects, with a focus on challenging behavior. The subjects mainly focus on: trauma informed care, trauma and its effects, positive discipline, social-emotional development, sensory concerns, the Pyramid Model, and Conscious Discipline.

Education

I graduated from UNF with my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. Currently, I’m in a master’s program for Exceptional Student Education with a concentration of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), as my long-term goal is to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

It’s time to learn.

There’s a better way to complete those preschool teacher training courses — trust us.
