Hi! I’m Sarah Morris, a writer for Impact Early Education.
I’m here because I’m a teacher and love to help children! What better way than by teaching other teachers, which will in turn help more children than just my own class?
Experience
Throughout college, I worked in a Reggio Emilia-inspired daycare. I’ve taken this philosophy with me to every teaching position I’ve held. For seven years, I’ve worked with students from infancy to five years old. I taught middle school language arts for about a year but found my passion was with the little ones.
I moved to Florida in 2013 to teach preschool. For two summers, I ran a backyard science camp for pre-K to 1st grade students. Now, I teach 1st grade in a Duval charter school and absolutely love it, but I could say that for every grade I’ve taught!
Education
I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Language Arts and Reading from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.I have my Bachelor’s in Applied Science for Supervision & Management from Florida State College at Jacksonville.
Some Fun Facts
I’m a member of the Florida Lighthouse Association and have climbed 23 of the 29 lighthouses in Florida.
I can sew and like to make quilts for my family.
